September – November
Fall is craft fair and harvest season, and the start of holiday market planning. Some towns also run a fall town-wide tag sale in September or October.
Early fall is a good time for one more tag sale before the weather turns, and a smart time to sell outdoor gear and kids' clothes that were outgrown over the summer. By October, craft fairs and fall festivals fill the weekends, and holiday market vendor applications are often due.
If you rake for neighbors, leaf season is your busiest stretch. Line up winter work, like snow clearing, before the first storm.
Timing varies by region. For real dates, see the events pages.
